The Amistad Surf Invitational began in 2006 when Dominican Surf Federation President Nestor Puente was given the vision to impact and develop the surfing community in the Dominican to being excellent in the sport of surfing as well as excellent in life. Through partnering with International Youth Initiative(IYI), the federation together with IYI & its network of youth ministries, has been able to develop the sport of surfing as well as the personal character of young people.

Since 2006, IYI & the Dominican Federation (FEDOSURF) have together held this annual event involving surfers from the United States in friendly competition and comradery.

IYI is in constant need of surfers interested in investing and being a part of this outreach event as well as surf resources (event sponsorship, prize boards, surf giveaways, etc.) If you are interested in being a part of this event click here.
